Are you 14-25 and looking to boost your CV and enhance your skills set in a vibrant and creative community? Join us for a term in a volunteer programme offering both ‘hands on’ experience and skills boosting sessions.

Here’s what you’ll gain:

  • Practical experience at a busy arts institution - hone skills in engaging the public as you talk with an interesting and diverse range of people
  • Getting hands on with some clay in our pottery. Engage with our ethos of Art for All and embrace the power of creativity to enhance your wellbeing
  • Build your public speaking skills by sharing your take on your favourite artwork
  • Boost your confidence in a workplace environment. Work as part of a team to achieve the shared goal of helping visitors to have an enjoyable and inspiring experience
  • Get the opportunity to speak to experts in the cultural sector about careers in museums and heritage
  • Join on expert guides to gain knowledge of the Wattses and their art
  • Obtain a written reference when you have completed your term for a standout addition to your CV or university application

If you want to contribute to your local arts community whilst gaining some experience in an arts environment, we are looking for you! We’re seeking friendly enthusiastic individuals who enjoy the buzz of making someone’s day a bit better. No experience necessary. The small print:

  • You will need to be available on Sunday 6 October for the induction session and Sunday 8 December for the debrief session
  • Applicants need to commit 2.5 hours a week for 10 weeks from w/c 30 September with a break at half term week
  • You must be aged between 17 and 25 if volunteering alone or between 14 and 16 if volunteering with a parent or guardian
  • Places on the scheme are limited to 10 volunteers
  • If you’re completing your Duke of Edinburgh Award we can organise an extension to meet the correct duration for your award
